An interview can be a daunting test for an individual that is ill prepared. It is important to remember that an individual who does not know how to respond to an interview question may find that an interview is even more frightening than the person who is not ready. This is because a candidate must be able to a range of intelligent responses to many questions in a relatively short period of time to give. As a result, an individual who does not know how a simple interview response form may find it extremely difficult to answer a question that he or she is not prepared to answer.

There are several interview techniques, however, that a candidate can use in almost any interview question. Try to relate your response to the position that you apply even if the question seems like it is "off-the-wall" or absolutely ridiculous. This will allow you to highlight the features that you notice, even if the question seems irrelevant. This job interview technique is useful because it can request that an interviewer will be more interested in finding out if you can get a reasonable answer than he or she will in fact what you say. Second, try to focus on your strengths whenever possible. This will allow you to have the attributes you notice, so you can picture that you an excellent employee and not just another applicant. It is important to remember that this does not mean that you should only talk about your strengths, but instead you should focus on your strengths and downplay your weaknesses as much as possible. Finally, do not try to share more information than you absolutely need. This is important because an interviewer will try to provide information about your strengths and weaknesses to collect, but there is no reason why the interviewer information that could hurt your chances of getting the job as the interviewer does not ask for the information.
